Thank you, Jim, for these thoughtful posts.

In the year I worked with an RC parish, I was espeically struck by the integration of catechism of the children across church, home and school. I was amused that I was asked to be the Cathechist for the few children who'd slipped through the net of being confirmed at 7 (the practice in that diocese) and were now 10/11. So there are a now few RC folk in that part of Manchester with a symbolic theologoy of the eucharist, or who are at least aware that someone who shared their faith in Christ might hold to one.

I, too am intrigued that these two tradtions have A1 scholars at their helms, and if these two manage an effective dialogue something creative might emerge for us all.
